The Pentindu lives on the beaches of the Southern Hemisphere between 10° and 13° South Latitude. Its preferred diet consists of seaweed that washes up on the beach, small crustaceans, rodent babies, and green grasses that grow adjacent to sand beaches. The Pentindu spends daylight hours finding food, exploring the brush, and dipping its toes in the ocean. Its greatest fear is fire, so the Pentindu moves to a new part of the beach any time an advanced creature that uses cooking fires arrives at its section of beach. The young of the Pentindu are born weighing 1 lb. and grow quickly from 4-6" at birth to nearly full-grown 1½' within 6 weeks when they are able to survive on their own. Pentindus typically live 6.723 years in the wild. Survival in captivity is unknown as there are no records of their capture.
The first recorded history of Pentindus dates to the year 253 BCE when cavemen or some other ancient creatures drew pictures of them by chiseling away bits of rock on the interior wall of an ocean cave. Archeologists who could not use logic to figure out that the cave was above sea level in 253 BCE instead used modern technology to establish beyond a doubt that the cave was not underwater when someone spent many hours or days or weeks carving the Pentindu. The Pentindu in the cave drawing was engaged in the same activities that present-day Pentindu enjoy: finding food, exploring the brush, and dipping toes in the ocean.
