A Lert is a prehistoric creature of comic proportions due to its large bill, webbed feet, and triclaw hands. Though winged, a Lert flies only short spans due to the smallness of wings and largeness of torso. A Lert's most striking features are its yellow and blue striped limbs and protruding eyes. A Lert may look frightening to one unfamiliar with its friendly nature. Young Lerts are not as "a-Lert" as older Lerts, and they stay close to the nest for protection. Older Lerts go on adventures to foster alliances to advance their species.
