Start of Time
1st of Jeden Equivelent to the Human New Year's Day, the Haymeen Start of Time is a celebration of the year beginning again, and is celebrated differently by every family.
Start of Time last occurred on August 2, 2009. It will happen again on September 22, 2012.
First Flight
31st of Hrexgum First Flight is a celebration of the first successful flight by a Haymeen. Although it is an official Haymeen holiday, there is no official way to celebrate it.
First Flight last occurred on February 27, 2010. It will happen again on April 19, 2013.
Day of Understanding
42nd of Oraot Day of Understanding is the Haymeen celebration of the first day of the Age of Understanding. On this day in AOU 0, Alfstad was unified when a spaceship was invented. To celebrate the Day of Understanding, every Haymeen planet holds Tritam races, and there is a galaxy-wide scavenger hunt. In Iolton, the city where the spaceship was invented, there is a massive fireworks display.
Day of Understanding last occurred on April 17, 2010. It will happen again on June 7, 2013.
Girrur-Y'ugnathith Hour
27th of Pilon, 6:00-7:00
During the 6th hour of Pilon 27th, the Haymeen take a moment to remember the beginning of the age of religion and the invention of vehicles and buildings.
Girrur-Y'ugnathith Hour last occurred on December 10, 2008. It will happen again on January 31, 2012.
Pancake Day
23rd of Letua
Pancake Day is celebrated with syrup fountains and batter fights. It is the hottest day of the year on Alfstad. At the exact middle of the day, Jastian (the Haymeen sun) gets close enough to burn flesh. Everyone goes underground for 2 to 3 hours starting between 13:00 and 14:00, and ending at about 16:00. The batter flung around is cooked by Jastian's heat, and everyone feasts on the giant pancake for the remainder of the day.
Pancake Day occurs on Haymeen planets other than Alfstad as well, but in a very reduced format. On planets other than Alfstad, Pancake Day is celebrated by a feast of pancakes cooked on giant skillets. Because of the batter fights held on Alfstad, many Haymeen choose to celebrate it there instead of on their home planets.
Pancake Day last occurred on March 26, 2009. It will happen again on May 16, 2012.
